National Inter Faith Week
Sunday 20 to Saturday 26 November 2011

There had been extensive publicity through e-networks, using the mailing of individual flyers for each event. A composite flyer had also been distributed both by e-networks and in hard copies distributed through libraries.
Publicity was supported through some funding assistance from the Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham and Composite Leaflets produced through Nottingham City Council.
Mitzvah Day –Leaflet
The Progressive Synagogue was full of enthusiastic young people and some supporting adults. All dressed for the occasion in Mitzvah Day logo tee shirts. All those present were dealing with lots of boxes in a well ordered way – decorating them, filling with dry food, toiletries etc; and then by human conveyor, taking them downstairs to be despatched to the Refugee Forum and Framework.
Some Inter Faith members supported and encouraged the work throughout the day.
Concert – Now an annual event this proved to be an excellent evening which was a good social occasion. Once again held at the Progressive Synagogue, this was a full and varied programme of talented acts. Supported by an enthusiastic audience
Topical Debate – The discussion on ‘Faith & the Economy’ was exceptional.
The audience included members from St. Peter’s, NIFC and some members of the public as well as some well connected speakers. There was excellent coverage with photo by the Nottingham Post’s Business paper.
Festival of Lights – leaflet
This was a celebration of food, music and art about the many relevant Religious Festivals around this time. It was held in Beeston and NIFC supported the local Broxtowe Celebration Group. It was very well attended.
Faith Walk – A repeat of this event is proposed soon.
Crime & Punishment Debate – was postponed from the Tuesday of NIF Week to 5 December. It proved to be very popular with 100 or so people attending. Clearly a subject of interest.
